A Girl Being Ugly is a Gift of God

Only men who seek for qualities will get attracted to her. She's kept off from most of the bad guys, by nature.

The Effects of Forced Monogamy

It just occurred to me yesterday that polygamy is one of the most wonderful things that Allah has granted to the womankind.

It is well known that woman in the middle east are more demanding and powerful within the family. They enjoy full rights and are the key decision makers when it comes to family matters. Husbands are 'forced to treat them in the best of their manners', otherwise she can just say good bye wihout much hassle. It is easier for her to find another partner, rather than their husbands, if she is ready to decrease her mahar demands (Mahar is just the opposite of dowry - the girl receives and does not pay anything). The husband, on the other hand has to pay for the children's monthly expensed and start gathering money to pay mahar for the next bride. So, a broken marriage is equally damaging for both husband and wife, and perhaps it is relatively harder for the husband to continue his life with another marriage. This demand that the women have is what creates the balance/equivalence of power in the institution of family, since the explicit leadership of the family is given to the men.

Men's leadership and women's demand are supposed to form a wonderful mixture and be 'The formula of success' of the society.

Islam is a religion which takes a whole or none approach. Practicing what people like and avoiding what they don't is nothing but cheating the religion. If people do act such, they will pay for it, either in this world or in the Hereafter or in both.

Girls in this Island don't like or let their husbands marry another one. They will fight their best against it. They try their best to impose a different model -monogamy- instead of the polygamy, which is bestowed upon us by The Almighty. And, take my words, they ARE paying for that. They have lost their demand described above. Since men have inherent financial superiority and the leadership in the family, the decrease of women's demand results in a power imbalance in the family which make women weak and vulnerable. Breaking off and starting a new family life is not at all an option for the women folk in this Island.

Scientifically, forced monogamy is not what is meant for the human race by nature. The history and reality, let go my theory above, stands a proof to that pure monogamy is not going to work.

You see girls, you can't force your husbands to follow monogamy. Because,
1. They won't follow. (By hook or by crook)
2. You lose your demand and come to a position where you are now.

You cheat Allah? It fires back.

Criticizing an incident Vs a community Vs an ideology

It is quite common to find that some isolated mistakes done by some individuals of a particular community are attributed to the whole of that particular community.

What makes me even worried is that those who do this, are deliberate, desperate and doing it systematically. They just talk to some individuals of a particular community on the street, and video some mistakes committed by them and propagate it to such an extent, that audience feel only that particular community is doing such things. The propoganda keeps going on for a prolonged period, so that everyone starts to forget the simple fact that the same mistakes are made by other communities too.

With all the ethnic problems and decades of war, still unfortunately people haven't learned to respect the diversity and accept reality. I don't see why some people, who are in top levels, spread such enmity among communities. What's the motive and what's the point? Especially media people have a big responsibility in this regards.

Why don't we promote being good Sri Lankans, respecting each other's culture and belief, and live happily together in harmony.

I sincerely intend to write a lot on this issue, when I find some free time

See you.

What to eat?

He told us not to eat bread. He said bread is from foreign countries and he can't guarantee prices. He also said it is not ours, and we should stick to ours.

"What should we eat, then?" I asked innocently.

"Eat rice and curry, like our forefathers. They were true Lankans" he replied. His friends came with hundreds of reasons for why we should not eat bread.

I started eating rice twice a day. I used to take rice only for the lunch ever since I was born until recently. But, I was proud of this change, because now I am like my forefathers whom according to him were true Lankans.

I believe he must be eating rice even during coffee breaks. Man, He's a true Lankan or what.

Yesterday I went to buy rice and felt a thunderbolt inside my head when the shop owner said rice is 100/= per kg.

I don't have enough money to buy that, and the bread too has become much expensive.

Let me think.... mmm.. Since none in the known have died out of starvation, it is implied that they had been taking something cheaper than the rice I eat.

Next time, I should ask him what kind of rice the forefathers ate, and still if it is not affordable should ask him what our "forefathers of the forefathers" ate. I hope, at least that is cheaper.

I am hungry now, can you suggest me something for today's lunch?

Homeless US People

I was watching tyra show yesterday on TV. I was shocked by the fact that 3.5 million are homeless in US.

Some homeless people attested that when they became homeless, none in the family cared. One person told that she had chosen to go homeless rather than asking her relatives for a shelter. See how much she had been alienated from the family.

The economy as well as the bond between family members have gone down?
